This is a special dish in malabar Consumed after starvation.

Malabar Unnakaya

Ingredients to make Malabar Unnakaya

  • Nenthran pazham (Kerala banana) 2 numbers
  • Grated coconut 4 table spoon
  • Chopped cashew 3 table spoon
  • raisins 2 table spoon
  • cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • oil for frying

How to make Malabar Unnakaya

  1. Steam cook banana well and mash it like a dough
  2. Mix all ingredients except oil
  3. Make a cup shape with the banana and add the filling and make a ball of it and deep fry in low flame
  4. Serve hot

My Tip:

Cook only in low flame. If the mashed banana is not so thick add 1 or 2 table spoon of raw rice flour.
