Skillet Whiskey Chicken with Herbs

Ingredients to make Skillet Whiskey Chicken with Herbs

  • Boneless Chicken Breast 4
  • Jack Daniel Honey Whiskey 1 glass
  • Rosemary 1 teaspoon
  • Thyme 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic Paste 1 tablespoon
  • Maida/ Flour 2 teaspoons
  • Red Chili Flakes 1 teaspoon
  • Salt as required
  • Pepper 1/2 teaspoon
  • Butter 1/2 tablespoon
  • Water 2 glasses

How to make Skillet Whiskey Chicken with Herbs

  1. Marinate the chicken with salt, garlic paste, rosemary and thyme for 15 minutes.
  2. In a cast iron skillet, heat the butter. Add the chicken breasts one by one. Flip over when the chicken is browned
  3. Add one cup of water and half of the whiskey. Close the lid and allow the chicken to cook through for 15 minutes
  4. Now add the maida/ flour, red chili flakes and pepper along with another cup of water.
  5. Stir continuously. Make sure the maida is completely mixed or else lumps will form.
  6. Allow the water to evaporate. Wait till the sauce is nice and thick. Turn the stove off. Add the remaining whiskey. Give it a nice stir. And garnish with some more rosemary and thyme.
My Tip: I would suggest that you let the chicken sit for at least an hour before serving with some dinner rolls and salad. This way the whiskey is nicely absorbed into the chicken.
