About Nei choru / Simple ghee rice Recipe

Nei choru is very popular way to serve rice ,they are often served on all festive occasions in our place served with mutton or chicken kurma,dalcha and onion raitha.

Ingredients to make Nei choru / Simple ghee rice

  • Basmati or Seeraga samba rice-250 gm
  • ghee& oil -each 2 tbsp
  • cardamom, clove, Cinnamon-each 2
  • Pantan leaves-2 small piece
  • ginger garlic paste-2 -3 tsp
  • Chopped onion -1
  • Green chilli -1
  • Chopped mint & coriander leaves - each 1 tbsp
  • curd-2 tbsp
  • water-1:2 ratio
  • salt - to taste

How to make Nei choru / Simple ghee rice

  1. INGREDIENTS:-BASMATI RICE OR JEERAGA SAMBA-250 GM,OIL - 2 TBSP,GHEE - 2 TBSP,CARDAMOM, CLOVE,CINNAMON-EACH 2 PIECE,PANTAN LEAVES -2 SMALL PIECE,CHOPPED ONION-1,GREEN CHILLI-1,CHOPPED FEW MINT & CORIANDER LEAVES,CURD -2 TBSP,SALT - TO TASTE.
  2. HEAT OIL & GHEE IN A HEAVY BOTTOMED VESSEL.
  3. ADD ALL THESE INGREDIENTS ONE BY ONE.
  4. ADD ALL SPICES AND CHOPPED ONIONS.
  5. SAUTE TILL ONION ARE TRANSLUCENT, ADD GINGER GARLIC PASTE.
  6. STIR WELL. LOW THE FLAME, ADD CURD,MIX WELL.
  7. COOK FOR A MINUTE.
  8. ADD 1:2 RATIO WATER.
  9. ADD SALT TO TASTE AND MIX WELL.
  10. BRING TO BOIL.ADD RINSED,DRAINED RICE.
  11. MIX IT ONCE.
  12. CLOSE AND COOK IN A MEDIUM LOW FLAME FOR 5 MINUTES.
  13. OPEN AND MIX.
  14. COVER WITH ALUMINIM FOIL AND SIMMER THE STOVE.
  15. AFTER 5 MINUTES SWITCH OFF.
  16. OPEN,MIX GENTLY.

My Tip:

Adding coconut milk is optional.
