About Sukhiyan - Rice coconut sweet dumplings Recipe

It is a delicious sweet with crispy rice crust and and a soft sweet filling inside. It is extremely healthy and tasty.

Ingredients to make Sukhiyan - Rice coconut sweet dumplings

  • Grated coconut 3 cups
  • jaggery syrup 2 cups
  • Boiled and mashed channa daal 2 cups
  • rice powder 1 cup
  • oil for frying

How to make Sukhiyan - Rice coconut sweet dumplings

  1. Prepare a semi thick batter with the rice powder as we do while making fritters.
  2. To prepare the jaggery syrup take a thick bottomed pan and add 8 pieces of jaggery in it. And add half a glass of water to it. Keep it in simmer till it dilutes. Saute it often with a laddle to avoid burning. When it turns to a thick dilution add the boiled channa and coconut.Mix it well.
  3. Now our filling is ready. Keep it aside to cool.
  4. Make the filling into small balls, dump it in the rice batter and deep fry it.
  5. Our sweet rice coconut dumpling is now ready to serve.

My Tip:

You can also use maida instead of rice powder and Moong daal instead of channa daal
