About Osmania Biscuits Recipe

Osmania Biscuits are very popular biscuits available in most of local hotels,chai stalls and Irani hotels in and around Hyderabad region.It is also a hardcore Hyderabadi cafe snack.osmania Biscuits is a kind of Indian short bread cookies flavored with elachi powder and glazed with milk saffron.

Ingredients to make Osmania Biscuits

  • Maidha-200 grams
  • Baking Powder-1/4 teaspoon
  • butter-120 grams
  • Elachi powder-1/2 teaspoon
  • Custard powder-10 grams
  • Milk powder-10 grams
  • saffron-few strands
  • sugar powder-80 grams
  • Milk-20 milli litre for glazing

How to make Osmania Biscuits

  1. Take a bowl and add butter,sugar powder mix well.Add little milk and mix again.
  2. Take another bowl,add maidha,custard powder,milk powder,elachi powder,baking powder mix well.
  3. Add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar.Combine all the ingredients to make a smooth dough.
  4. Roll the dough into a thin sheet and cut them in to round shape.Arrange a biscuit in a tray and pour over some saffron milk mixture on top.
  5. Drain off the excess milk mix and bake at 180 degree Celsius for 15 minutes.

My Tip:

Add 2 tablespoons of condensed milk to enrich the flavor of biscuits.
