About Dal Bada curry Recipe

Masoor dal bada curry, a delicious side dish to be served with some rice.

Dal Bada curry

Ingredients to make Dal Bada curry

  • masoor dal/ Red lentil - 1 cup
  • onion paste - 1 tbsp
  • garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp
  • cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - 4 tbsp
  • cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • salt
  • water

How to make Dal Bada curry

  1. Soak Masoor dal for 2 hours.
  2. Grind it and mix salt and cumin powder and whisk till it become frothy.
  3. Make medium size bade from grounded dal and deep fry.
  4. Bade are ready.
  5. Heat oil in kadhai and put whole cumin seeds.
  6. Add onion paste and garlic paste.
  7. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt.
  8. Cook on high flame for 3 minutes.
  9. Add 1 cup water and lower the flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
  10. Insert knife in pakodas and then drop all pakodas/bade in gravy.
  11. Cook on medium flame for 3 minutes.
  12. Bada/pakoda Curry is ready.
