Dahi Bhalla

Ingredients to make Dahi Bhalla

  • 1 cup Urad dal (split black lentils)
  • 1 cup Moong dal
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 2 green chillies
  • Pinch of baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 1 cup whisked curd
  • 2 teaspoon khajur imli chutney
  • 2 teaspoon green chutney
  • 1/2 cup sev
  • 2 teaspoon masala sing/peanuts
  • 1/2 cup Pomegranate seeds
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves

How to make Dahi Bhalla

  1. Soak the two dals in water.
  2. Drain and grind them adding along with green chillies. Add salt to taste and mix well.
  3. Make balls of it. Dip your hands in water and flatten each ball with fingers.
  4. Deep fry them till they become golden.
  5. Now for making dahi vada-soak above dahi vada for 1 hour or as much you can in water.
  6. Squeeze out the excess water.
  7. Beat curd with sugar and salt.
  8. Finally slip vadas into the beaten curd.
  9. Garnish with green chutney, khajur imli chutney, cumin powder, chilli powder, masala sing, sev, pomegranate seeds and some coriander leaves.
  10. Serve it.
My Tip: You can have plain dahi vada too.
