About Herbed Bread Recipe

Delicious herby bread that serves as a perfect accompaniment to any dish or can be just served along with some tea for snacks.

Herbed Bread

Ingredients to make Herbed Bread

  • Warm water 3/4 cup
  • sugar 1tbsp
  • Instant yeast one tsp
  • maida 2cups
  • salt 1/2tsp
  • Crushed garlic 1tsp
  • chilli flakes 1tsp
  • mixed herbs 2 tsp
  • oil 2tbsp
  • Extra flour for kneading the dough
  • butter or milk to give final wash to bread

How to make Herbed Bread

  1. Add warm water, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Mix well and keep in a warm place for 10 to 15mins till it becomes forthy
  2. In a bowl add flour,mixed herbs, garlic, chilling flakes and salt. Mix and make a well in a center and add the yeast mixture. Knead 4th o a soft pliable dough by adding the butter
  3. Transfer the dough to Abigail bowl, cover and keep aside in a warm place for about an hour.
  4. The dough will rise and double in volume. Knead for another 2 to 3mins adding little flour if it's to sticky.
  5. Roll the dough and place it in a rectangle time for second d rise.
  6. Now cover the tin and keep aside for half an hour till they rise. brush with butter. Now add the remaining seasings, crushed garlic and chilli flakes on top.
  7. Preheat the oven for 200c and bake for 15 to 20 mins or till it achieves browning on top.
  8. Remove immediately from pan and allow to cool on a wire rack.
  9. Now apply butter on top of the bread to get a glossy and soft crust.
