About French crepes Recipe

A French think pancake that is made of wheat flour , milk and eggs . A yummilicious breakfast / brunch / snack enjoyed by all with no age differences.

Ingredients to make French crepes

  • Whole wheat flour 120 gms
  • salt a pinch
  • Milk 150 ml
  • egg 1
  • Vannila essence a drop
  • butter 3 tablespoons
  • honey for topping
  • Fruit of your choice for topping

How to make French crepes

  1. In a bowl , take whole wheat flour , salt , milk , one egg and whisk this into a smooth flowing , lump-free batter . Let this batter rest for 30 minutes . This would result in crispy puffy crepes . Check the batter consistency . Pancake batter consistency is preferred .
  2. After 30 minutes , add a drop of vanilla essence to the batter and whisk it again .
  3. Heat 1 teaspoon of butter , Pour half ladle of batter on the hot pan . Don’t use your ladle to spread the batter like we do for dosas . Instead , gently shake the pan so that the batter spreads to a think round medium crepes .
  4. Cook the other side till you get small brown spots . Add a tsp of butter .
  5. Likewise , prepare 6 crepes using the batter .
  6. Finally top up with generous honey .
  7. Add cut fruits of your choice ( I used grapes ) and enjoy .

My Tip:

Prepare a very think consistency batter. The batter mustn’t be too watery and too heavy . The pancake consistency will do . Maintain a low flame for even cooking .
