Horse Gram/Kulith Salad

Ingredients to make Horse Gram/Kulith Salad

  • 100 grams Kulith/Horse gram sprouts
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 small cucumber, chopped
  • 1 small tomato de-seeded and chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated carrots
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 sprigs of coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, to squeeze on top

How to make Horse Gram/Kulith Salad

  1. Put the sprouts in a pan and add water. Cover the pan and let it steam on a low heat for 10-12 minutes or until they are done. (By done we mean it shout not be mushy. The gram is pretty hard to start with. We want it to have a bite to it.)
  2. Once done, remove in a bowl. While it is still warm, add the ginger and tomatoes. Add the cucumber, carrots, salt, pepper, lemon juice and coriander just before serving.
