About Soya Shami Kebabs Recipe

A super quick , vegetarian protein kebabs . Easy yummy snack perfect for tea time , kitty parties and dinner parties.

Soya Shami Kebabs

Ingredients to make Soya Shami Kebabs

  • Soya granules 1.5 cup
  • Soaked Channa dal 1/2 cup
  • onion 1 chopped
  • ginger chopped 1 inch piece
  • garlic pods chopped 5
  • red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • green chillies chopped 2
  • salt as taste
  • besan flour 1 tablespoon
  • Garam masala 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh mint leaves 5
  • Fresh coriander leaves 2 tablespoons
  • oil 1 to 2 tablespoons.

How to make Soya Shami Kebabs

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add ginger , garlic , green chillies and sauté for a minute.
  3. Add soya granules , red chilli powder , salt , mint and coriander leaves . Give a toss to ensure the mixture is moisture free . Remove from the heat . Cool completely .
  4. Grind this Soya mixture coarsely along with the soaked Channa dal .
  5. In a bowl , take the ground mixture . Add besan flour .
  6. Add Garam Masala and mix into a flexible mixture .
  7. Divide the mixture into equal balls and shape them into patties .
  8. Heat a nonstick pan . Place the patties on the pan . Drizzle a tablespoon of oil over the patties . Shallow fry the kebabs under low to medium flame .
  9. Flip and fry either sides .
  10. Serve hot with mint chutney .

My Tip:

Don’t omit the first step of tossing the ingredients in the pan . The ground mixture shouldn’t be moist . You can’t hold patties if the mixture is moist . Don’t fry the kebabs under high flame . If the ground mixture turns moist . Add extra spoons if besan flour to adjust the consistency .
