About FLAX OR ALASI PODI Recipe

Flax Seeds or Alasi are packed with beneficial nutrients, omega-3 fatty acids and fiber.They are also good supporting player in a weight loss diet. Using such healthy and nutritious ingredients in Jai Ki Rasoi Se made "Alasi Podi or Powder" this can be served with Idli, Dosa and Hot Steam Rice

FLAX OR ALASI PODI

Ingredients to make FLAX OR ALASI PODI

  • Flax Seeds (Alasi) - 100 Grams
  • cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1 Table Spoon
  • coriander Seeds (Dhaniya) - 1 Table Spoon
  • Black pepper (Kali Mirch) - 1 Tea Spoon
  • Red Dry Chillies (Sukhi Lal Mirch) - 6 to 8
  • Curry Leave (Curry Patta) - 1 Bunch
  • garlic Cloves (Lasoon Ki Kaliyan) - 8 to 10
  • Turmeric Powder (Haldi Powder) - 1 tea Spoon
  • Refined oil / ghee - As per requirement
  • salt to taste

How to make FLAX OR ALASI PODI

  1. Dry roast flax seeds till they start popping. Keep aside allow them to cool
  2. Heat oil as per your requirement in a kadai or non-stick pan. Once the oil is hot add cumin & coriander seeds, black peppers, garlic cloves, red dry chillies and curry leaves. Cook till garlic clove turn light brown
  3. Finally add turmeric powder and cook for a minute. Keep aside allow them to cool
  4. In a mixer jar add roasted flax seeds long with fried ingredients. Season it with salt according to taste and make fine powder
  5. Now the dish is ready can be served with Idli, dosa or hot steam rice

My Tip:

If you want tanggy flavour then you can add tamarind while frying the ingredients. It will enhance the flavour
