Quick Jalebis

Ingredients to make Quick Jalebis

  • To prepare the syrup:
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Water 1/2 cup
  • Lime juice 1/2 tsp
  • Saffron - few strands
  • For preparing the batter :
  • Refined flour 1/4 cup
  • Gram flour 1 tbsp
  • Corn flour 1 tsp
  • Curd 7 tsp
  • Fruit salt 3/4 tsp

How to make Quick Jalebis

  1. Prepare the sugar syrup on a low flame up to one thread consistency. Add saffron to it.
  2. Heat oil in a wide flat pan.
  3. Prepare the batter by mixing refined flour, gram flour, corn flour, curd and fruit salt. Leave it for 30 seconds.
  4. Transfer this batter in a piping bag with a tiny tip.
  5. Make swirls in medium hot oil from the batter, fry the jalebis on medium flame till you get golden colour, take them out.
  6. Instantly dunk the jalebis into the syrup for 2 minutes. Put these jalebis on a wire rack. Serve hot.
My Tip: Fry the jalebis on a low to medium flame.
