Basbousa-Egg less middle eastern dessert cake

Ingredients to make Basbousa-Egg less middle eastern dessert cake

  • Fine rawa 1.5 katori
  • 3/4 katori ghee
  • 1/2 katori condensed milk
  • 5tbsp pisi chini or as much sweet u like
  • 1/2 katori Soaked & chopped almonds
  • 1 katori dried coconut 
  • 1tbsp cardamom powder
  • 3 tbsp fresh curd
  • 1.5 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest
  • 200 gms orange juice( can use ready made juice also)

How to make Basbousa-Egg less middle eastern dessert cake

  1. Preheat oven at 180°c
  2. Now take a big bowl add ghee & sugar 1st & mix well , now add condensed milk, curd & 3tbsp orange juice, mix well & keep aside
  3. Now take another bowl seive rawa, baking powder, coconut powder ,& add all this in 2-3 batches in ghee sugar mix. Now make a smooth batter & if needed add milk little by little 
  4. Consistency should b like pakoda better
  5. Now add chopped almonds & orange zest & save some almond for garnishing.. mix well & immediately transfer this better into cake pot.
  6. Bake it for almost 30-35 mins after that do a squire test & if comes clean.it means it's done.
  7. Meanwhile make orange syrup , add orange juice & 2tbsp sugar, 1tbsp lime juice in a saucepan & boil it untill sugar melts completely,let it cool.
  8. pour this orange syrup on hot basboussa cake,leave it for almost 15 min. To absorb the syrup completely.

My Tip:

Enjoy hot basboussa with cold cold icecream.(any flavor)
