Ragi flour ( nachni ) khichu

Ingredients to make Ragi flour ( nachni ) khichu

  • 1/2 cup of fresh curd mixed with 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup ragi /nachni flour (red millet)
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • A pinch of asafoeida
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • Some finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tsp oil for serving

How to make Ragi flour ( nachni ) khichu

  1. Take a non-stick pan, put in curd, water and mix well, then add the salt, cumin seeds, chilli powder, baking soda and green chillies. Mix well . Let it boil .
  2. Now add the ragi flour and mix well. Stir continuously so that no lumps remain.
  3. Cover and cook on a slow flame for 5 - 7 minutes or until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  4. Add coriander leaves and drizzle 1 tsp oil on the mixture.
  5. Serve it immediately.

My Tip:

While adding flour, be quick in stirring to avoid the formation of the lumps.
