Gavhale bhaat

Ingredients to make Gavhale bhaat

  • Gavhale/Valvat 1 cup
  • cloves 2
  • cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  • raisins a few
  • Chopped dry nuts of your choice 1 tsp
  • Grated fresh coconut 1/2 cup
  • 1/2 tbsp ghee
  • sugar 3 tbsp or adjust as per your need
  • water 1/2 cup

How to make Gavhale bhaat

  1. In a pan, add ghee. To this add the cloves and fry it slightly, then add in the gavhale.
  2. Roast the gavhale till it is slightly pink. Add the raisins and mix well. Set it aside in a plate.
  3. In the same pan, add grated coconut and sugar. Cook the mixture till it is slightly done.
  4. Add the gavhale to this mixture of coconut and sugar. Mix it well together.
  5. Now add water and cook till it's done.
  6. Garnish with nuts and serve it warm or cold as desired.
