About Dal rasam Recipe

This is simple recipe to make rasam, to be served with some hot rice on the side.

Ingredients to make Dal rasam

  • Boiled toor dal - 1/2 cup
  • tomato 3
  • chilli 5
  • garlic 4
  • salt
  • coriander leaves [handful]
  • coriander seeds - 1 tsp
  • cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • curry leaves - 10
  • pepper corns - 10
  • ghee
  • salt
  • dry red chillies - 2

How to make Dal rasam

  1. MAKE A PASTE OF CUMIN SEEDS, CORIANDER SEEDS, GARLIC, PEPPER CORNS AND DRY RED CHILLIES.
  2. HEAT A SAUCE PAN WITH SOME OIL, ADD MUSTARD SEEDS AND CURRY LEAVES.
  3. ONCE THEY SPLUTTER, ADD THE CRUSHED TOMATOES.
  4. COOK UNTIL THE TOMATOES ARE MUSHY, THEN ADD THE BOILED DAL AND SALT.
  5. ADD REQUIRED AMOUNT OF WATER AND BRING UPTO BOIL. GARNISH WITH SOME CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES AND SERVE.
