About Punjabi Dhoda Burfi Recipe

It is one of the Punjab’s traditional sweet having richness and taste beyond words. Its very tasty and power packed sweet. So do cook it and enjoy with your loved ones.

Punjabi Dhoda Burfi

Ingredients to make Punjabi Dhoda Burfi

  • mawa 250 grams
  • sugar 1/2cup
  • Broken wheat/ dalia 2 tablespoons
  • Milk 1 cup
  • cream 1/2 cup
  • ghee 1 tablespoon
  • Cashew, almonds chopped finely ½ cup
  • Cocoa powder 1/2cup
  • cardamom powder ½ teaspoon
  • For garnishing :
  • cashewnuts, almonds and pistachios chopped lengthwise 2 tablespoon each

How to make Punjabi Dhoda Burfi

  1. In a pan over medium heat, melt ghee and roast dalia till it becomes brown in color.
  2. Add milk and let it cook on low heat till dalia softens .
  3. To the dalia mixture, add mawa, cream and sugar. Cook it for about 20 minutes.
  4. Add cocoa powder, cardamom powder and finely chopped dry fruits . Mix well and continue cooking it till it becomes dough like.
  5. Transfer ready Dhoda to a greased plate. Let it cool completely.
  6. Sprinkle pistachios, almonds and cashewnuts. Cut into desired shape.
  7. Dhoda burfi is ready to relish .

My Tip:

It remains fresh for more than 15 days, if kept refrigerated.
