About Chicken Stock Recipe

Ok so this needs a bit of time, but the pay off is tremendous. Making your own stock is ensuring that you have fabulous tasting recipes all the time

Chicken Stock

Ingredients to make Chicken Stock

  • 2 liters water
  • 300 Grams chicken
  • 1 whole onion
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 spring onion 1
  • 1 bay leaf
  • fresh parsely
  • milk to skim

How to make Chicken Stock

  1. In a large pot add water, chicken, onion, celery, carrots, leek, bay leaf, spring onion and parsley
  2. Bring to a rolling boil. Skim the dirt off the surface by adding a bit of milk, Turn down the heat. Let it simmer for atleast 1 to 2 hours or until the quantity is halved.
  3. Let it cool. Then store it or use it as per recipe

My Tip:

Freeze in ice cube trays for quick use. Once the stock freezes transfer into a ziploc bag and continue freezing.
