ABOUT Conger eel ( vila ) fish curry RECIPE

This is a delicious recipe, which my mother used to prepare. A delicious fish curry to be served with some rice.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Conger eel fish : 1
  2. Salt
  3. Turmeric powder 1/2 spoon
  4. Chilli powder 1 spoon
  5. Coriander powder 2 spoon
  6. Grated Coconut 3/4
  7. Small onion 20
  8. Tamarind : lemon size
  9. Green chilli : 4
  10. Tomato : 3
  11. For seasoning
  12. Mustard seeds : 1 spoon
  13. Fenugreek : 1/2 spoon
  14. Small onion : 5
  15. Curry leaves
  16. Sesame oil 5 spoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean the fish and keep aside
  2. Soke the tamarind for 15 mins
  3. In a mixer jar add grated coconut, onion and grind it to make smooth paste
  4. Transfer to a bowl and add tamarind water, salt, chilli, required water, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, tomato and mix well
  5. Switch on the flame and cook for 15 min
  6. Add fish and cook for 10 min
  7. In a pan add sesame oil and add mustard seeds, fenugreek, chopped small onion, curry leaves and fry it
  8. Add it to the fish curry and cook for 5 min in low flame

It goes well with boiled rice.
