About Aloo posto Recipe

Aloo posto, a Bengali dish in which aloo or potatoes are cooked with poppy seed paste.Bengalis have this dish mainly in lunch

Ingredients to make Aloo posto

  • 2 large potatoes cut into cubes
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1/2 tsp haldi
  • 2 whole dried red chillies
  • 2 green chillies
  • 3/4 cup water

How to make Aloo posto

  1. Heat oil in a pan
  2. In the meantime make a paste of poppy seeds n green chillies
  3. When the oil is heated add potatoes n fry them a little
  4. Next add poppy seed n green chilli paste
  5. Saute a little
  6. Now add haldi,salt,whole dried red chillies n water
  7. Allow the potatoes to cook till they are tender
  8. Saute till all the water dries
  9. Your aloo posto dish is ready to serve
