was thinking of making wheat pancakes for my kids..i have heard maida is not so good for health
Yes. Wheat pan cakes turns out as good as maida. Can replace wheat flour in almost all for maida. Only thing when you accept it as a healthy option you will not find any difference.
Yes they have turned out well!! Have added only cardamom powder to flavour it and used ghee while frying for kids. Oh please don't use maida for kids.
yes reena dear..i avoid it. kids were asking for something sweet and looked at your pancakes. i will make it..like your idea of frying them in ghee
But if you use a non stick tawa just one or two spoons of ghee is sufficient to get a crisp pancake :)
Manisha it's just wheat flour, sugar, pinch of salt, required amount of water (for a pouring consistency), cardamom powder... Nicely mix everything till sugar dissolves and taste for sweetness. On a non stick just pour a ladle of batter forming a small pancake and fry with ghee flipping over once.
Yep , dear. Its only some addition in basic recepie. Its carrot and coconut malpooa. When deep fried its Maalpooa. When shallow its pancake. Actually Pancake is a Modified Version Of Our Grandmothers Malpooa. As I was unable to post the pic I shared the link.
That's really good. In mango season you can add mango also. Even strawberries and blue berries are fine.
I have also posted Apple and Tomato pan cake . It gives tangy taste which kids like much.
