Ingredients to make Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting

  • Maida 100 gm
  • Sugar 100 gm
  • Condensed milk 100 ml
  • Butter 100gm
  • Baking Powder 1 Tsp
  • Baking soda 1tsp
  • Vanilla essence Few drops
  • Red colour 5 6 drops
  • For Frosting
  • Cream cheese 100gms
  • White chocolate 1 or 2 medium size bar
  • Fresh cream 50 gms optional

How to make Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting

  1. Take butter at room temperature and add powdered sugar, mix vigorously till light and fluffy
  2. To this add condensed milk and vanilla essence
  3. Sift maida baking powder and soda together
  4. Add to the mix in 2 batches
  5. If batter looks thick add some milk
  6. Finally add red gel or liquid colour 5 to 6 drops or till required colour attained
  7. Preheat oven at 180 degrees
  8. Bake at 180 degrees for 30 to 40 mins there after check till toothpick comes out clean.
  9. The amount of ingredients can be increased or decreased in same ratio as per requirement
  10. For the frosting melt white chocolate and add some cream to make ganache, this step is completely optional though.
  11. Add this to cream cheese and whisk.
  12. Evenly spread on the cake and let it set. Decorate with jelly, fruits or whipped cream.
