It's a very fast and delicious dessert. Not trying it at home may be difficult.

Ingredients to make Red velvet cupckes with cream cheese frosting

  • For the cupcakes:
  • all purpose flour -1 cup
  • Granulated sugar- 1 cup
  • 1 egg
  • Unsalted butter- 3/4 cup
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Red food colouring -1 1/2 tsp
  • White vinegar- 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Milk - 2 tsp
  • Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
  • salt -1/4 tsp
  • Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • For the cream cheeee frosting
  • cream cheese - 1/2 cup
  • Whipped cream-1/2 cup
  • sugar-1/4 cup

How to make Red velvet cupckes with cream cheese frosting

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degree celcius. Line your muffin tray with cupcake liners and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and mix well using a wire whisk.
  3. In another bowl add the butter and the sugar and beat well until creamy.Then add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix well and creamy.
  4. Then add half of the dry ingredients and half of the buttermilk and mix well, then add the other half and mix well. (Do not over mix)
  5. Then add the red colour and mix well.Add the batter to the liners and bake at 180 degress for 25 mins.
  6. To make the frosting in a bowl add the cream cheeee a bowl and cream then add the whipped cream and the sugar and mix well.
  7. Remove the cupcakes oit of the oven and let cool then frost with cream cheese frosting and decorate with colourful sprinkles.

My Tip:

Do not use vanilla esscence as it gives a wrong taste.
