ABOUT Shrewsbury Biscuits RECIPE

An easy recipe to prepare the very famous Shrewsbury Biscuits.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Butter 1/2 cup
  2. Sugar 3/4 cup
  3. Egg 1 no.
  4. Salt, a small pinch
  5. All purpose flour 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Mix the Butter (softened) and sugar until soft and creamy. You can use an electric beater to do this or a hand whisk too.
  2. To this add the salt, and egg and beat until egg is well incorporated.
  3. Add the flour and knead well until soft dough is obtained.
  4. Place the dough on a floured surface and roll into half cm thick.
  5. Cut into desired shape and pick with fork.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven on 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes or until light golden brown. (time may vary as per the oven specifications)
  7. Cool on a cooling rack and store in an airtight container.
