ABOUT Ghee Sauteed Sprouted Moong... RECIPE

Sprouts are a rich source of protiens and what better way to eat them than just a quick stir fry or have them sauteed in butter. An aromatic, flavourful one that will make you crave for more. Easily done in just no time at all. Makes for an excellent brunch idea too. A perfect accompaniment at tea-time or better still can be a wholesome tiffin box idea. Protien packed meal for everyone. Leftovers do get a perfect makeover in this simple stir fry. Boom!

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 2 1/2 cups Moong sprouts leftover
  2. 1 tsp salt
  3. 2 tbsp ghee
  4. 1 finely chopped onion
  5. 8-10 curry leaves
  6. 1 tsp chaat masala
  7. 1 tsp chana masala
  8. 1 tbsp red chilli flakes
  9. 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat ghee on a low heat. Add chopped onion and saute for a minute.
  2. Add red chilli flakes and chana masala. Saute onion until translucent and the raw smell disappears for nearly about 3 minutes.
  3. Now add the sprouts and cover. Cook for 3-4 minutes and then open the lid. On a medium high heat, stir fry it for the next 5 minutes.
  4. The sprouts should be firm and not mushy and there should not be any raw smell either. Sprinkle chaat masala and add salt according to taste.
  5. Squeeze some lemon juice as desired nearly about a tablespoon or more and mix well.
  6. Serve hot immediately for a crunchy, lipsmacking and a wholesome snack.
