This is a traditional konkani snack, which is usually made in n around Mangalore..

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1)maida_ one n half cup
  2. 2) hot oil_ 2 tbsp
  3. 3) salt required
  4. 4) dessicated coconut 4-5 tbsp
  5. 5)red chilli powder-1 tsp
  6. 6)besan/ gramflour-4 tbsp
  7. 6)hing- one tsp
  8. 7) mustard- one tsp
  9. 8)oil to fry
  10. 9) water to make the dough

Instructions

  1. Make a dough with maida adding salt n 2 tbsp hot oil,lil water,just like we make for chapathis.
  2. Heat a skillet,add 2 tbsp of oil,add mustard, when it splutter,slower the flame,add hing n redchilli powder,( take care not to burn),then add dessicated coconut, besan,salt, mix everything well for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Make small balls from the maida dough, like we make for pooris,also make equal amount of besan coconut mix.
  4. Then roll the maida dough to small pooris, keep besan coconut dough inside it,close it n roll again ( take care that filling should not come out)like we make aloo parota,nd deep fry the stuffed pooris in hot oil,till golden brown.
