- 1/2 kilogram Hilsa (ilish) fish
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 2-3 green chillies
- 1 inch piece Ginger
- 3 tablespoon Mustard oil
How to make Steamed Hilsa
My Tip:The paste of yellow mustard seeds has to be smoother. Add 1 tablespoon of tamarind water and before you paste all the ingredients, dress the fish pieces with lemon and keep in vinegar water for 5 minutes. Before covering the lid, sprinkle 1 tbsp of sugar on the top.
