Crab Korma(Bengali kakrar jhal)

Ingredients to make Crab Korma(Bengali kakrar jhal)

  • Crabs - 8 no ( clean it and separate the legs and crush it slightly )
  • onion paste - 2 large no
  • ginger and garlic paste - 3 teaspoons
  • tomato puree - 3 tablespoons
  • Green chilies paste - 1 teaspoon
  • red chilly paste - 2 teaspoons
  • White mustard seeds paste - 1 teaspoon
  • cumin seeds powder - 2 teaspoons
  • turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Shahi garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon
  • coriander leaves - 1/2 cup chopped
  • salt to taste
  • sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • mustard oil - 4 tablespoons

How to make Crab Korma(Bengali kakrar jhal)

  1. Clean the crabs and rub with little salt and turmeric powder mix well .
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan .
  3. Fry the crabs till they turns red in colour. Keep aside .
  4. Heat remaining oil same pan, add onion paste and fry till it turns light brown. Then add ginger and garlic paste fry till the raw smell disappear .
  5. Add cumin powder and turmeric powder stir for 30 second .
  6. Add green chilly paste , red chilly paste , tomato puree and mustard paste. Fry for 5 minutes.
  7. Then add salt , sugar and fried crabs . Stir continuously for 2 minutes , add little water and cover it for few minutes or till the oil separate from the sides of the pan .
  8. Then add shahi garam masala powder and chopped coriander leaves and stir well .
  9. Now Kakrar Jhal or Crab Corma is ready to serve .
  10. This spicy delicious Crab Corma serve with only hot steamed rice.
