Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. crabs 2
  2. goan xacuti masala 1.5 tbsp
  3. turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  4. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  5. onion big 1
  6. onion small 1
  7. coconut slices few
  8. Fresh grated coconut 1 cup
  9. tamarind marble ball size
  10. salt to taste


  1. clean the crabs, separate the legs. Break each crab into 4 pieces
  2. Hit crab legs so that it becomes easy to remove the flesh once cooked
  3. Apply 1 tbsp salt and wash after 10 minutes
  4. Chop the big onion and cook along with crab pieces.
  5. Add in pinch of turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp xacuti masala
  6. peel the small onion and roast it directly on the gas flame
  7. roast the coconut slices also on direct gas flame
  8. Fry the grated coconut on a tava till reddish brown on a low medium flame
  9. Grind together the roasted onion, roasted coconut slices, fried coconut along with tamarind, turmeric and xacuti masala to a coarse paste
  10. Add it to the cooked crabs and boil
  11. Add salt to taste
