Ingredients to make My granny's veggie prawn

  • Medium size Prawns - 1 cup
  • bottle gourd cubes (peeled) - 1 cup
  • carrot cubes - 1cup
  • onion - 2 nos
  • tomato - 2 nos
  • Green chilli - 3 nos
  • curry leaves
  • ginger and garlic paste - 1/4 tbsp
  • Tumeric power - 1/4 tbsp
  • chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • cumin seed
  • mustard
  • oil - 2 tbsp
  • salt for taste

How to make My granny's veggie prawn

  1. Heat oil in the pan.Add mustard and cumin seeds.Allow it to splutter.Saute the finely chopped onion, sliced green chillies and curry leaves until the onion turns golden brown.
  2. Now add the Ginger garlic paste and then add finely chopped tomatoes. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt.Saute until the oil comes out.
  3. Add prawns, bottle gourd and carrot saute it well.Add some water.
  4. Close the pan with a lid.Cook them with a slow flame.When all the veggies and prawn is done off the pan.
  5. A simple traditional veggie prawn is ready.Serve hot with plain rice and chapatis.

My Tip:

You can make this recipe as gravy type or like a little dry / semi gravy masala for chapatis and dosa.
