Tirangi Bread

Ingredients to make Tirangi Bread

  • all purpose flour-2 & 1/2 cups
  • oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Milk-1/4 cup
  • sugar-1 and half tablespoon
  • salt-1tea spoon
  • Dry active yeast-3/4 table spoon
  • water -1/4 cup or as needed
  • Orange food colour-few drops
  • Green food colour-few drops
  • sesame seeds-1 teaspoon

How to make Tirangi Bread

  1. How to make bread- In lukewarm milk add sugar and stir. now add yeast, stir lightly and let it sit till frothy. It took 5-10 min. When done stir it and its ready to use.
  2. Meanwhile in a wide bowl add the flour, salt and oil.
  3. Now add yeast mix and water slowly to knead into a soft sticky dough. start from 1/4 cup of water and slowly add more water with help of tablespoon.
  4. Continue kneading till you get soft dough. It takes about 5-10 minutes.
  5. Now divide it into 4 parts. let 2 parts remain white. In 1 part mix green colour and in 1 part orange colour.
  6. Then oil the 3 mixing bowl, place the dough and keep it covered till it doubles. It took me an hour and half and kept in microwave.
  7. When dough is doubled, punch it down and knead it again separately.
  8. Now roll the dough with rolling pin like chapati. 2 white chapati , one orange and one green.
  9. Now preheat oven to 180C. when loaf is ready brush it with milk , sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  10. Place the pan on oven and bake it 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden.
  11. Cool it on wire rack. demould it and cut slices after 5-6 hours.
