Ingredients to make Tri Colour Fairy cupcakes

  • butter - 1/2 cup
  • White sugar - 130 gm
  • eggs - 3
  • Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional)
  • flour - 1.5 cup
  • Baking powder - 1.5 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 th tsp
  • milk - 1/4 th cup
  • Icing sugar - 2 cups
  • White butter - 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla extract for icing - 1 tsp
  • cream - 2 tbsp
  • Food colors (orange and green)

How to make Tri Colour Fairy cupcakes

  1. Whisk the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one by one and add the vanilla extract.
  2. Sieve the flour, baking powder, salt and the zest. Keep aside.
  3. Now fold in the flour mixture alternatively with the milk into the butter mixture.
  4. Divide the batter into three parts in three bowls, and add orange, green food colours respectively.
  5. Fill the muffin cups lined with muffin liners with the batter. Bake them at 170 degree Celsius for 17-20 minutes.
  6. For the icing, whisk the butter until fluffy and add the icing sugar, vanilla extract.
  7. Divide the frosting into 3 parts and add the food colours. Pipe them onto the cupcakes.
