Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boiled Rice 1 cup
  2. Gingely oil 1/4 cup
  3. Salt
  4. Urd dal 1 tablespoon
  5. Sesame seeds 1 teaspoon
  6. Pepper 1 teaspoon
  7. Red chilly 6 number
  8. Fenugreek seeds 1/4 teaspoon
  9. Coriander seeds 1 Teaspoon
  10. Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Tamarind a lemon size
  12. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Red chilly powder 1/2 Teaspoon
  14. Ground nut a handful
  15. curry leaves
  16. Urd dal split 1 teaspoon
  17. Chana dal 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Dry roast urd Dal chana Dal coriander seeds sesame seeds red chilly pepper
  2. Cool it and grind to powder
  3. In a cooker add 2 cups water 1 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon gingely oil and cook till 2 whistles
  4. Cool it
  5. Take juice of tamarind
  6. In a kadai add oil and fry chana Dal, urd Dal, mustard seed, red chilly curry leaves and ground nuts and add this to rice
  7. Boil tamarind juice and add chilly powder, turmeric powder hing and salt and 3/4 of the ground powder
  8. Cook it till it becomes thick like a paste
  9. Mix it in rice and sprinkle powder and mix and serve hot
