Dal Dhaba Style

Ingredients to make Dal Dhaba Style

  • Split and dehusked masoor dal 1/4 cup
  • Split urad dal 1/2 cup
  • chana dal 1/2 cup
  • Chopped onion 1
  • Sliced onion 1
  • tomato sliced 1
  • ginger chopped 1 tbsp
  • garlic chopped 1 tbsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Degi mirch 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Dried methi leaves 1 tbsp
  • coriander leaves chopped 2tbsp
  • green chillies cut in halves 4-5
  • salt to taste

How to make Dal Dhaba Style

  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker,add ginger, garlic,turmeric, chopped onions tomatoes saute till oil separates.
  2. Then add 6 cups of water bottle and all the dals,salt.
  3. Cover with lid and cook for half an hour or till 7-8 whistles on high heat
  4. Heat 3tbsp oil in a pan,add cumin seeds,red chilli powder, green chilli,sliced onions and tomatoes saute for five to six minutes
  5. Now add the cooked dal,simmer for 8-10 minutes
  6. Add methi ,garam masala and then coriander leaves.

My Tip:

Cut Onion and tomato slices a bit thick
