Narkel Poli/ Coconut Roti

Ingredients to make Narkel Poli/ Coconut Roti

  • 1 nariyal/ coconut (grated)
  • 2 cup whole wheat flour
  • water as required for making the dough
  • salt 1/2 tsp or as per taste
  • Dry fruit as per choice and 2 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp water melon seeds
  • 2 apricots (chopped)
  • 3 figs (chopped)
  • 3 almonds (chopped)
  • chironji 1 tsp
  • 1/4 cup pure ghee
  • 1/2 cup jaggery (grated)

How to make Narkel Poli/ Coconut Roti

  1. Mix flour and salt. Make a soft dough. Keep aside to rest.
  2. Heat a pan, add one tsp ghee and add melon seeds, almonds, chironji, poppy seeds and in the end apricots and figs. Saute for some time.
  3. Make a roti with the help of a rolling pin. Heat a tawa and cook a soft and thick pizza size roti.
  4. When the roti is hot, add a tsp ghee, jaggery, coconut and the dry fruits mixture.
  5. If you like, add one more tsp of ghee on top.
  6. Make 3 poli like above.
  7. Serve hot.

My Tip:

1. Follow the sequence. 2. You can add more dry fruits. 3. Jaggery is used as per one's choice of sweetness.
