Ingredients to make Soya semiya pulao

  • Roasted vermicelli 1 cup
  • onion 1 finely chopped
  • tomato 1 finely chopped
  • Soya granules 1/2 cup
  • Green chilli 2-3
  • garlic cloves 2
  • carrot 1 finely chopped
  • coriander leaves for garnishing
  • salt to taste
  • hot water
  • bay leaf 1
  • clove 2
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • dry fruits for garnishing

How to make Soya semiya pulao

  1. Soak soya granules in hot water for 10 minutes. Drain and Squeeze them to remove the water.Heat Kadai. Add oil. Saute bay leaves, clove, garlic till golden brown.
  2. Then add tomato. Mix well. Add carrot, soya granules and saute for 5 minutes.
  3. Then add turmeric powder, garam masala and add roasted semiya and salt. Mix well.
  4. Add hot water just above the semiya level and close the lid. Let it cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves, fried dry fruits and serve hot.

My Tip:

Please use only roasted vermicelli or semiya for this recipe because the unroasted one may become soggy. Also add the water only till the vermicelli level.
