Mooli, Mogri aur Mirchi Ka Instant Achaar

Ingredients to make Mooli, Mogri aur Mirchi Ka Instant Achaar

  • Mooli/radish- 1 piece
  • Mogri/radish pods- 50 gms
  • Green/red chillies- 2 pieces
  • salt as per taste
  • red chilli powder- 2/3 tsp
  • turmeric/ Haldi powder- 1/2 tsp
  • mustard Powder (Peesi rai)- 1/2 tsp
  • Hing powder/ asafoetida- 1 pinch
  • Amchoor powder- 1/2 tsp
  • mustard seeds/ Rai - 1/2 tsp
  • Kalaungi/Nigella seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • oil - 2 tsp
  • vinegar - 2 tsp (optional)

How to make Mooli, Mogri aur Mirchi Ka Instant Achaar

  1. Wash and peel the mooli, then cut them into thin long pieces.
  2. Similarly wash and cut the mogri from the ends and cut it into long pieces of same size. Next, cut the chillies into long pieces of same size as well.
  3. In a mixing bowl, add in all the pieces of mooli, mogri and mirchi. Then add salt, haldi, red chilli powder, rai powder, a little amchoor powder too. Mix it all well together.
  4. Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan and temper it with heeng, rai and kalaunji. Then add this tempering to the mooli, mogri and chilli mixture.
  5. Close the lid for a few minutes to fill it with the aroma of your tadka. Add about 2 tsp of white vinegar to it and keep it covered.
  6. Mix it well afterwards and your instant mooli, mogri and mirchi ka achaar is ready!

My Tip:

Adding white vinegar gives not only a tempting taste, but also increases the shelf life.
