Ingredients to make Pineapple upside down cake

  • 200 gms - flour
  • 200 gms - powdered sugar
  • 4 - eggs
  • 4 slices - pineapple
  • 400 gms - salted butter
  • seedless cherries - 8 to 10
  • 1/2 tsp - yellow food coloring
  • 2 tsp - pineapple essence
  • 1 tsp - baking powder
  • pinch of milk powder

How to make Pineapple upside down cake

  1. Mix in the flour, baking powder and milk powder and sieve.
  2. Cream the butter and add in the sugar and mix well
  3. Prepare a round cake tin, layer it with butter and butter paper, place the pineapple and cherries at the bottom.
  4. Whisk the eggs with pineapple essence and food color. Add in the butter-cream mixture, then slowly mix the flour using cutting and folding.
  5. Transfer it to the cake tin, bake for 30 minutes on the same or till the toothpick comes out clean
  6. Remove from oven, remove the access cake from the top and make it straight and smooth, now turn the cake tin upside down on a serving plate.
