Sundakai Poriyal

Ingredients to make Sundakai Poriyal

  • Channa dal 100 g
  • Sundakai 100 g
  • onion 50 g
  • garlic 5 cloves
  • mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  • urad dal 1 teaspoon
  • oil 1 tablespoon
  • curry leaves 10
  • hing
  • chilly powder 1 tablespoon
  • turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  • salt as required

How to make Sundakai Poriyal

  1. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds as it splutters add Urad dal then add chopped onions as it turns golden brown add garlic and curry leaves
  2. Meanwhile clean sundakai well and boil it. Boil channa dal also
  3. Now add boiled channa dal and boiled sundakai and turmeric powder, Chilly powder and salt
  4. Add some salt and grated coconut and finally Hing. Mix it well. Now ready to eat.

My Tip:

Pat sundakai to break it. Make sure that it breaks into few pieces. It is very easy to clean the seeds.
