Ingredients to make Besan Sev

  • gram flour or besan 2 cups
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  • 2 tbsp hot oil
  • 3-4 tbsp water or as needed to make a tight dough

How to make Besan Sev

  1. Make a smooth but stiff dough . Care should be taken while adding water. It should be added little by little.
  2. If the dough sticks to your hand and you are not able to handle it , apply some oil to your hands .
  3. Apply some oil inside the sev making machine too .
  4. Deep fry by releasing the sev into the hot oil by going round in a clockwise motion .
  5. Serve hot as it is with tea or coffee or can be stored in an air-tight container after it has cooled down and use it in any of your chaats .

My Tip:

Addition of the water depends upon the quality of the gram flour you are using . It may be less or more . So add it little by little .
