Ingredients to make Tawa Chicken Burger

  • For the Bun - all purpose flour 1 cup
  • yeast 1/2 tsp
  • Warm water 1 tbsp
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • ghee 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • For the patty - chicken mince 1 1/2 cups
  • Bread crumbs 1/2 cup
  • onion 1 chopped
  • green chillies chopped 2
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/4 tsp or less
  • salt to taste
  • oil as required
  • coriander leaves as required
  • Topping -
  • Cheese, onion and tomato slices
  • Extra ketchup as per taste
  • Mayonnaise as per taste

How to make Tawa Chicken Burger

  1. Dissolve yeast in 2 tbsp of water, along with sugar. Keep it for some time.
  2. Prepare patty by mixing all the ingredients. Add bread crumbs and mashed potatoes. Make 4 patties. Shape them round and shallow fry them till golden and crisp on both the sides.
  3. The dough should have doubled. Take 4 balls of dough and place it on the greased pan. Cover and let rest for 1/2 an hour.
  4. On the gas, keep the pan with the balls on a stove top. cover it with a lid. cover the lid with a cloth, not to spill steam water on buns. Cook for 8 minutes. then open the lid, turn it & cook for another 4-5 minutes, covering. Take out when ready.
  5. To make burgers, cut the buns into two, if you like, you can toast it in a pan with some ghee, on both sides. Spread mayonnaise on one side,& ketchup on the other. Add slices of onion, tomato, lettuce, cheese, sprinkle some salt & pepper Serve hot.

My Tip:

Patty can be made before. Heat it on a tawa. Heat the bun too. Vegetarians can avoid chicken.
