Ingredients to make Caramalized Banana Upside Down

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 3 or 4 medium bananas mashed
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 gm butter
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 2 tbsp walnuts

How to make Caramalized Banana Upside Down

  1. Melt two tablespoons of sugar in the pan till it melts and turn golden.
  2. Slice a banana and arrange in a greased loaf pan.Pour caramalised sugar on top
  3. Preheat the oven at 180 C
  4. Sift all dry ingredients like flour,cinnamon and baking powder together
  5. Dry toast walnuts and keep aside
  6. Add sugar to the butter and mix well till light and fluffy
  7. Add eggs, essence and bananas. Mix well
  8. Add flour and gently fold it in. Donot over work the batter
  9. Fold in raisins and walnuts
  10. Pour in the prepared tin with caramelized bananas
  11. Bake at 180 C for 45 mins or till toothpick comes out clean
  12. Remove and carefully demould while still warm

My Tip:

Reduce 1 tbsp sugar if bananas are too sweet. Do not overmix the batter
