Ingredients to make Kacharyu

  • sesame seeds(white or black til). -250 gms
  • jaggery-150gms
  • Edible gum-50 gms
  • Dry fruits like cashews,almonds,magajtari etc-50 gms
  • Dry coconut powder-50 gm
  • ghee- 1tbsp

How to make Kacharyu

  1. Dry roast sesame seeds in a pan on low flame till they become crisp.
  2. After it cools crush coarsely in mixer.
  3. Cut dry fruits finely or can crush in mixer as I did (made for my mother in law who has no teeth so crushed everything)
  4. Fry edible gum in ghee and keep aside.
  5. Heat the ghee and add jaggery.As soon as it melts add crushed sesame seeds,dry fruits ,edible gum and coconut powder.
  6. Kachariyu is ready.
