Suji Dhokla

Ingredients to make Suji Dhokla

  • 2 cups suji
  • 2 tsp besan
  • 2cups dahi or curd
  • A pinch haldi
  • 2tsp sugar and 1/2lemon juice
  • 2tsp ghee or refined oil
  • 1tsp red chilly powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/ 2lemon juice
  • For khamir- 2 eno fruit salt sachet
  • 2 cup water
  • 3tsp sugar
  • For tadka. oil 2tsp
  • Sabut rai 2tsp
  • For garnishing. Green coriander
  • coconut burada
  • 4- 5 green chillies

How to make Suji Dhokla

  1. Mix all the ingredients except khamir tadka and garnishing materials. Keep for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat micro for 2 minutes. Mix ino sachets in mixture. Mix it well. Now pour in micro safe bowl. Micro it 8 minutes. Leave for 2 or 3 minutes in microwave.
  3. At that tlme in a pan put water green chillies and sugar. Boil till half. When cool put half lemon juice in water mixture. Pour on dhokla. Take a fry pan pour oil heat it when hot sprinkle rai. When it sputters , remove from heat and put it on dhokla. Sprinkle coriander and coconut on it. Serve with tomato sauce or ketchup .

My Tip:

If you do not have eno then 1 tsp baking pd and 1/4 of baking soda (meetha soda which we use in chanas) can be used.
