Ingredients to make Whole wheat masala garlic bread

  • wheat flour-3 cups
  • Dry active yeast-1 and half tsp
  • butter-2tbsp+2 tbsb
  • sugar-1 tbsp
  • salt-1tbsp
  • Milk-1 cup
  • Oregano-1 tbsp
  • Dried basil-1 tsp
  • chilli flakes-1 tbsp
  • Black pepper-1tsp
  • Mixed herbs-1 tsp
  • garlic-10 cloves

How to make Whole wheat masala garlic bread

  1. Take warm milk with sugar and add yeast.Cover and keep for 10 minutes to activate.
  2. Take wheat flour in a big bowl.Add salt and butter.Also add the frothy yeast mixture in this and knead a soft dough.Add warm water for kneading the dough after milk is over.
  3. Oil it and cover with kitchen napkin and keep in a warm place.I normally keep it in the microwave:-)
  4. After 1 and half hours the dough doubles in size.Now again punch and add the spices and crushed garlic in this dough and mix properly.Again oil it and keep covered in a bread mould for an hour or till it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
  6. Brush the top of dough with milk and keep in oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees.
  7. After 20 minutes insert a toothpick and check if the bread is baked.Alsovtap and see whether hollow sound comes.
  8. Invert the mould and remove bread on wire rack to cool.
  9. After it cools cut into pieces and can serve like this only with hot soup or can give in lunch box with garlic butter and cheese topping as I did.
  10. Prepare garlic and herb butter.Brush it on the bread slices and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.Grill in oven for 3 minutes.
  11. Your yummy and soft garlic masala bread is ready for the kids.

My Tip:

As this bread is made from wheat flour it has a very soft texture but its very nutritious for small kids alao as it has milk also.
