Sweet whole wheat khichado

Ingredients to make Sweet whole wheat khichado

  • 250 gms - Coarsely poundedwheat (Chadela wheat)
  • 100 gms- chana daal
  • 100 gms - tuver daal
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar+ jaggery (you can add more as per your taste)
  • 4-5 -Dry dates (kharek) chopped
  • Mix dry fruits (raisins, cashewnuts, almonds)
  • 1 tsp -cardamom powder
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 2 - 3 tbsp ghee
  • Dried coconut sliced
  • 2to 3 cloves

How to make Sweet whole wheat khichado

  1. Soak the pounded wheat overnight
  2. Soak chana daal and tuver daal for half an hour. Chop the dry fruits, coconut and dry dates.
  3. Pressure cook the wheat along with chana daal, tuver daal, dry coconut and dry dates with enough water till soft.
  4. Add ghee in a large pan, add cinnamon,cloves and dry fruits
  5. Add enough water and then add sugar n Jaggery till it dissolves.
  6. Add cooked wheat in the pan. Add more sugar/jaggery as per the sweetness.

My Tip:

You need to pressure cook the wheat for atleast half an hour. Pls see to it that you should take heavy bottom pressure pan and cook on a low flame or else it will burn.
