About Gobi aaloo Recipe

Cauliflower, when cooked in peak season

Gobi aaloo

Ingredients to make Gobi aaloo

  • 1 cauliflower about 1/2kg cut into florets
  • 2 medium potatoes diced
  • 1 piece ginger minced
  • 2 green chillies slit

How to make Gobi aaloo

  1. Soak the cauliflower in water with 1tsp water
  2. Heat 2tbsp oil in a wok, and add the green chillies and the ginger.
  3. After 1 minute, add the cauliflower and the potatoes, 1tsp turmeric, 1tsp coriander powder, 1/2tsp red chillie powder and salt to taste.
  4. Stir and add about 2tbsp water, and cook covered for 10min.
  5. Open lid, put the heat on high,and add 1/2tsp Garam masala. Stir and take off the heat.

My Tip:

Soaking cauliflower in salt water, gets rid of any hidden worms.
