ABOUT Plantain fodi RECIPE

Plantain fodi is a popular recipe from Goa. Usually, most of the party recipes include rava fried. This is very simple to make and perfect to replace fish recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Plantain- 1
  2. Salt- as per our taste
  3. Turmeric powder- 2 pinches
  4. Lemon juice- 1 spoon
  5. Ginger garlic paste- 1/4 tsp
  6. Rava- 1 tbsp for coating

Instructions

  1. Peel the skin of plantain and cut into squares.
  2. Soak them in water for 10 min
  3. Apply little oil to your palms and apply a paste of salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and lemon juice and let it marinate for 30 min in refrigerator
  4. Just before serving food, remove the plantain squares from refrigerator.
  5. For coating, mix rava, little salt, chilli powder and turmeric.
  6. Heat a non stick pan and add oil to shallow fry.
  7. Roll the plantain squares into rava mix and place in non stick pan and shallow fry on both sides.
  8. Our crunchy plantain fodi is ready to serve.
