Plaintain/Raw Banana Podi Rice

Ingredients to make Plaintain/Raw Banana Podi Rice

  • Cooked Rice - 2 cup
  • Raw banana -1
  • Dry red chillies -2
  • Kashmiri chillies -3
  • Peppercorns - 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds - 3/4 tsp
  • Bengal gram -1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Grated Coconut -2 tbsp
  • Roasted peanuts -2 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds -1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal -1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves -1 sprig
  • Hing -1/4 tsp
  • Gingelly oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste

How to make Plaintain/Raw Banana Podi Rice

  1. Cook the plaintain in water and peel the skin ,mash the banana and keep it aside.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai roast the dry red chillies, kashmiri red chillies, coriander seeds, urad dal, bengal gram dal, peppercorns one by one. Once it cooled, grind to coarse powder.
  3. Heat remaining oil in a kadai add mustard seeds, urad dal, hing, curry leaves. Fry till dals are brown.
  4. Add grated coconut, roasted peanuts and grinded masala powder. Switch off the flame.
  5. Now add salt and cooked rice, mix it gently. Serve hot !!
